Fort Worth Billiards Continues Its Six-Decade Run of Quality Sales and Service
Since its establishment in 1952, Fort Worth Billiards has grown to become the number one billiards and game-room design store in the Metroplex. The original owner, Loyd N. Miles, ensured the long-term success of his business when he hired two young men, Ernest Lazo and Albert Trujillo, on a part-time basis.
“We started out as kids working here part time,” says Albert. “We learned the business from the ground up, working on pool cues, drilling bowling balls, or just whatever the boss asked us to do.”
Ernest came on board early, in 1958, while Albert joined the team in 1978. In 1992, the pair jumped at the opportunity to buy the business. Their partnership — now in its fourth decade — draws upon a pair of unique talents and unparalleled experience to benefit Fort Worth Billiard’s loyal customer base.
“We’re from two different eras, but that’s what makes our partnership click,” says Albert. “I handle the management and buying, while Ernest takes care of our customer service.”
Fort Worth Billiards has grown over the years to encompass the needs of its clientele. Today, visitors to the business’s location on Montgomery Street will find a 7,000-square-foot showroom with much more than just pool tables. Fort Worth Billiards stocks everything its customers need to outfit a home bar or recreation room, with more than 200 bar stools, pub tables, arcade games, foosball, air hockey and shuffleboard tables, and smaller items such as chess sets, dominoes and darts. A huge selection of decor allows customers to tailor the look of their room to personal tastes; in addition to wooden and metal signs, patrons can browse neon lights and a selection of novelty items.
Let’s say you want to put together a game room for your home, but feel overwhelmed by the sheer scope of Fort Worth Billiards’s inventory. Never fear, as Fort Worth Billiards has made customer service the very foundation of its business.
“Customer service is truly the key to our success,” says Albert. “Our team of employees are among the most experienced in the industry, from sales and retail to service and installation. We take the time to give our customers details about our products, one on one, in a no-hassle, informative sales environment.”
Fort Worth Billiards success and its devotion to its customers has earned industry awards, including honors from Brunswick Billiards. In fact, the world’s top manufacturer of pool tables recently recognized Fort Worth Billiards as the top single-store dealer in its worldwide network.
“We’re very proud to have won this recognition from Brunswick,” says Albert. “The president of the company even made a special visit to present us with a $40,000 table in appreciation of the milestone.”
Fort Worth Billiards’s sales team is among the best and most experienced in the industry, and can help anyone navigate the choices to outfit a game room. Of course, the service at Fort Worth Billiards does not stop with the sale.
“Once you’ve picked your game room items, service is the next step in our customer satisfaction process,” says Albert. “Whether you bought a pool table from us or not, we can service most tables. Our installation crews have a combined 65 years of experience, so we’ve seen it all in terms of repairs. We also provide pool cue repairs, from re-wrapping to getting your pool cue tips replaced in minutes while you shop.”
The shop even works with customers on the total design of game rooms. Simply tell them what you want and how much space you have, and Fort Worth Billiards will get you gaming in no time.
“Every customer has their own unique situation,” says Albert. “With almost 65 years of customer satisfaction, we can help anyone achieve their game room goals.”
