Shoot Smart Summer League

DFW’s premier indoor shooting range is hosting a summer shooting league for kids aged 8 to 15. Kids with all levels of shooting experience are welcome to join. All shooters will use a .22 caliber pistol and if you don’t have one, the range can provide one. The shooters will need a maximum of 50 rounds per week for 6 weeks. The course is $89.99/person and includes the New Shooter Clinic (a $65 value) specifically redesigned for kids, lane and gun rental, targets and fun prizes. Ammo is not included; however it will be available for sale at each range. The league will be at the Alliance location on July 12 and at the Grand Prairie location on July 19. Junior Achievement Bowl-A-Thon

Bowlathons are a time-honored tradition in Junior Achievement. For over 30 years, JA of the Chisholm Trail has hosted a variety of bowling events with themes ranging from the Wild West to Disco Fever. Each year the bowl-a-thons provide companies and families a fun day to gather together raising money for the educational programs. The theme this year is Sportspalooza, all things sports. There are contests on the day of the event such as lane decoration, best dressed, trivia and more The Summer Fun Bowl-a-thon at Cityview Lanes in Fort Worth is on Saturday, August 1, and is open to any company that wants to be involved. As the coordinator, you would help your company coordinate bowling teams of five people and raise funds for Junior Achievement through pledges and donations. For more information, call 817.731.0838.

The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to 
End Alzheimer’s®

The world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research is held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide and seven locations in the North Central Texas region alone, this inspiring event calls on participants of all ages and abilities to reclaim the future for millions.

More than 2,500 walkers are expected to participate in the 2015 Fort Worth Walk to End Alzheimer’s, which will be held on Saturday, October 24, at Trinity Park with a goal to raise $315,000.
