Generations

A couple of weeks ago Brileigh, our 8-year-old granddaughter, and I went to Bass Hall to see the Ballet Cinderella. The Texas Ballet Company did not disappoint! It has been way too many years since I have attended a ballet and Cinderella with “The Noodle” was perfect. We started our evening at the new Toll House Store with a feast of cookies and milk, then on to Bass Hall. “The Noodle” used her highly trained eye for all things desirable to peruse the boutique offerings on tables in the Grand Lobby, but wisely decided on an autographed pointe shoe worn by Cinderella herself. Our seats, which were so graciously given to us by the Texas Ballet Theater, were fabulous! I can’t thank them enough. We were enthralled from start to finish. On the drive home, we discussed our favorite parts of the performance and it took me back to when my kids were little and our after show conversations. I teared up a little at the nostalgia of it all. I am so thankful to be Brileigh and Laramie’s “GiGi” and am looking forward to sharing many fun adventures with them.

This month’s issue is all about MOM! Laura Rutledge started a foundation to give back for the miraculous healing of her daughter. A group of precious kiddos tell us what they really think about their moms. Then we travel down San Antonio Way to the Hill Country to spoil your mom. We also have a group of moms that made social media a format for connecting with parenting challenges and needs.

Whether you’re 2 or 42, you will always be your momma’s baby! My mom loved me so much she gave me her name and I want to take a line here and wish my lovely, hilarious, awesome Mom a Happy Birthday and Mother’s Day. Your love and support mean so much to me. I love you Mom!

I hope you enjoy this month’s issue and feel free to share your stories about the special lady in your life with us. See you around town.

Sincerely,

Christie Thomas
